St. Louis Life Key features of our program include:
Each resident and their family are assigned a lead staff person as the primary contact person at St. Louis Life. The lead staff person assists residents in the development of goals, communicates with their family, and creates monthly progress reports based on goals created by residents. Residents at St. Louis Life are encouraged to participate in social, educational, and recreational activities on campus as well as in the community. St. Louis Life offers educational workshops to further develop resident skills and reinforce their learning. Workshop topics include such areas as money management, computer safety, and writing skills. Residents provide input into the nature and focus of activities and educational workshops. Residents are expected to either work or volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week. Staff assists residents in identifying and connecting with employment or volunteer opportunities throughout the community. Staff work with residents on an individual basis to prepare them for the interview process and provide on-site job coaching as needed. St. Louis Life encourages the participation of families within the St. Louis Life community. We hold semi-annual meetings to allow families to come together and provide feedback and discuss aspects of the program. St. Louis Life provides the “warmth of home” with the structure and support services needed to allow our residents to live as independently as possible.
